Itinerary

Day 1:
Zanzibar - Stone Town Cultural Tour

Your journey begins with your arrival at Abeid Amani Karume International Airport or pickup from your hotel in Zanzibar City. You’ll be warmly welcomed by your guide and transferred to Tembo House Hotel & Apartments, an iconic property that blends Zanzibari charm with modern comfort, ideally located in the heart of Stone Town. After settling in, embark on a guided walking tour of the town’s winding alleys, where history comes alive. Explore landmarks such as the House of Wonders, the Old Fort, and the Sultan’s Palace Museum. In the afternoon, visit the lively Darajani Market and the Old Slave Market, gaining insights into Zanzibar’s storied past. Wrap up your day with a sunset dinner overlooking the ocean before returning to your hotel for an overnight stay.

Day 2:
Jozani Forest - Spice Farm Tour

After breakfast, venture to the Jozani Chwaka Bay National Park, home to the rare and endemic Zanzibar red colobus monkeys. Wander through the lush mangrove forests and nature trails, keeping an eye out for other wildlife like bush babies, butterflies, and a variety of bird species. Later, continue to one of Zanzibar’s famed spice farms. Here, you’ll experience an interactive tour, learning about the island’s rich history in the spice trade while smelling and tasting fresh cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, and tropical fruits straight from the source. In the afternoon, return to Tembo House Hotel & Apartments in Stone Town for a relaxed evening.

Day 3:
Prison Island and Nakupenda Sandbank

After breakfast, set off on a short boat ride to Prison Island (Changuu Island). Explore its historic prison ruins and get up close with the Aldabra giant tortoises, some of which are over a century old. Later, continue to Nakupenda Sandbank, a stunning stretch of white sand surrounded by turquoise waters. Spend the day snorkeling among vibrant coral reefs, swimming, or simply relaxing on the beach. A delicious seafood barbecue lunch will be served on the sandbank. In the late afternoon, return to Stone Town and transfer north to Nungwi Beach, where you’ll check in at the stylish The Z Hotel Zanzibar, offering direct access to the pristine beach and breathtaking sunsets. Spend the evening at leisure by the sea.

Day 4:
Relaxation and Leisure in Nungwi

Wake up to the sound of waves and enjoy a laid-back breakfast at The Z Hotel Zanzibar. Today is yours to relax and take in the beauty of Nungwi Beach. Swim in the crystal-clear waters, sunbathe on the powdery white sands, or lounge by the hotel’s infinity pool. Optional activities include a visit to the Mnarani Marine Turtle Conservation Pond, a dhow-building tour, or a sunset cruise on a traditional sailing boat. Day 5:
Paje Beach and Leisure

After breakfast, depart Nungwi and travel to Paje Beach, located on Zanzibar’s southeast coast—famous for its palm-lined beaches, kite surfing, and laid-back vibe. Upon arrival, check in at Kisiwa on the Beach, an elegant beachfront resort known for its private villas and serene atmosphere. Spend the afternoon at leisure: swim, relax on the beach, or explore Paje village. For the more adventurous, optional activities like kite surfing, snorkeling, or stand-up paddleboarding are available. End the day with a romantic dinner by the ocean and take in the peaceful ambiance.

Day 6:
Morning Relaxation and Departure

Enjoy your final morning at Kisiwa on the Beach. Take one last stroll along the idyllic shoreline or relax by the pool before breakfast. If time permits, you can fit in a last swim or souvenir shopping in Paje. Later, check out from the hotel and transfer back to Zanzibar City or Abeid Amani Karume International Airport for your departure, concluding your remarkable 6-day Zanzibar safari adventure.
