Itinerary

Day 1:
Zanzibar City and Stone Town

Your adventure begins upon your arrival at Zanzibar International Airport or pickup from your hotel in Zanzibar City. You’ll be welcomed by your guide and transferred to your hotel in the heart of Stone Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its rich history and unique blend of Swahili and Arab architecture. After checking in at Tembo House Hotel & Apartments, set out on a guided walking tour through the winding alleys of Stone Town. Visit historical sites like the Sultan’s Palace Museum, the House of Wonders, and the Old Slave Market, gaining insight into Zanzibar’s fascinating past. In the evening, enjoy dinner at a rooftop restaurant, soaking in panoramic views of the town and Indian Ocean.

Day 2:
Nakupenda Beach Excursion

After breakfast at Tembo House Hotel, embark on a full-day excursion to the breathtaking Nakupenda Beach, also known as “The Vanishing Island.” Board a traditional dhow for a short cruise from Stone Town to this stunning sandbank surrounded by crystal-clear turquoise waters. Spend the day swimming, snorkeling, and relaxing on the powdery white sands. A delicious seafood barbecue lunch is served on the sandbank, offering freshly caught fish, lobster, and tropical fruits. After an afternoon of leisure under the sun and in the sea, return to Stone Town in the late afternoon. Enjoy a relaxed evening and overnight once again at Tembo House Hotel & Apartments, where you can unwind by the pool or enjoy the beachfront ambiance.

Day 3:
Prison Island - Nungwi Beach

Following breakfast, take a morning boat ride to Prison Island, also known as Changuu Island. Explore the old prison ruins and learn about the island’s history, originally used as a detention center for rebellious slaves. You’ll also visit the giant tortoise sanctuary, home to Aldabra giant tortoises—some over 100 years old! Afterward, return to Stone Town and depart for Nungwi Beach, located on the northern tip of Zanzibar, known for its powdery sands and vibrant marine life. Upon arrival, check in at the elegant The Z Hotel Zanzibar, a chic boutique beachfront hotel. Spend the afternoon relaxing on the beach, swimming, or taking an optional sunset dhow cruise. End your day with a delicious seafood dinner at the hotel’s beachfront restaurant.

Day 4:
Leisure and Departure

Begin your final day with a leisurely breakfast at The Z Hotel Zanzibar. For those interested in exploring further, you may opt for a snorkeling trip or visit the Mnarani Turtle Conservation Centre. Later, check out and transfer back to Zanzibar City or Zanzibar International Airport for your departure, bringing your unforgettable Zanzibar safari adventure to a close.
