Itinerary

Day 1:
Cape Town - Robben Island

Upon arrival at Cape Town International Airport, your adventure begins with a warm welcome from your guide who will accompany you on your journey through the vibrant city. Start your day by exploring the iconic Robben Island, a UNESCO World Heritage Site that holds immense historical significance. The island was once home to the notorious prison where Nelson Mandela was incarcerated for 18 years, and today it stands as a powerful symbol of South Africa’s struggle for freedom. Take a guided tour of the prison and learn about the country’s fight against apartheid, gaining deep insight into this critical chapter in South African history. After the tour, you will return to the mainland for lunch and an afternoon at leisure to explore Cape Town’s scenic beauty, from Table Mountain to the charming waterfront or local markets. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the city’s top restaurants before your overnight stay.

Day 2:
Kruger National Park

After breakfast, you will head to the Kruger National Park, either by flight or a scenic drive, depending on your preference and timing. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation within or near the park and enjoy a welcome drink. The afternoon will be filled with excitement as you embark on your first game drive in the park. Kruger is one of the largest game reserves in South Africa and offers an incredible opportunity to witness the “Big Five” (lions, leopards, elephants, buffaloes, and rhinoceroses) in their natural habitat. Your expert guide will take you through various ecosystems, allowing you to experience the vast landscapes, wildlife, and birdlife that make Kruger one of the most famous safari destinations in the world. As the sun sets, enjoy a sundowner and take in the serene beauty of the African bush before returning to the lodge for a well-deserved dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3:
Game Drive and Departure

On your final day, wake up early for a morning game drive, when wildlife is most active, offering the best chance to spot predators, herds of elephants, and other exciting animals. Your guide will lead you through the park, sharing knowledge of the flora and fauna, as well as the cultural significance of the region. After the game drive, return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast and some time to relax or enjoy a final wildlife encounter. Depending on your departure time, you may have the opportunity to enjoy an additional activity, such as a bush walk or cultural experience, before your transfer to Kruger Mpumalanga International Airport or Nelspruit for your onward journey or return flight to Cape Town.
